Through change collection and grassroots fundraising efforts, the Make Cents Movement looks to involve local students in the real health care challenges of rural Africa.

Make Cents

Become part of a nationwide movement for equitable education and health care in Africa. The process is simple:

This movement has been created so that students around the country can single-handedly provide scholarships for health professionals in Africa by collecting change on the 1st and 15th of each month.

In Africa, preventable diseases kill hundreds of thousands of people each day. By joining this movement, selecting a local business to help you MAKE CENTS, you are literally pushing forward a movement for equitable education and health care in Africa.

Instructions to Get Started

1) Select a local business.

2) Provide the retailer with MAKE CENTS cards for inquiring customers. Cards can be attained by filling out the Join the MAKE CENTS online form.

3) Explain to the business owners and employees that as part of the MAKE CENTS campaign they should ask for customers to "leave their change? on the 1st and 15th of each month - with all proceeds going towards scholarships in Africa through The Rohde Foundation - a non-profit organization

4) Contact your partner site and pick-up donations on 1st and 15th of the month.
